Bill Callahan

Co-Owner & Business Manager

Since January of 1972 at the age of 8 Bill knew what he was going to do in life. With the first episode of Emergency he was captivated with the action-packed career of a firefighter/paramedic. He was 8 years old and never missed an episode.

In 1979 Bill attended his first EMT Class but was too young to be certified in Indiana, he became a First responder and Cadet Firefighter. 1986 he entered into the Indianapolis Fire Departments Recruit Class of 59. Six months later he graduated and began his life-long dream of being a firefighter. But something was missing. He then attended Paramedic school in one of the best schools Indianapolis had and finished 3rd in his class. He then worked multiple jobs throughout his career for area hospitals in Indiana.

He has received decorations for saving lives and risking his own while working for the City. He currently is a Captain / Paramedic with the City of Indianapolis Fire Department currently assigned as a Battalion Executive Officer in the cities 5th Battalion.

Bill founded the CPR Institute of Indiana in 2000 to address the need for Public Emergency educators.

The CPR Institute took shape in 1999 and officially began training in Indy in 2000.  Started with 2 Firefighters and only a hand full of students their first year in Indianapolis only, to now 20 years later being a National Company traveling and teaching thousands of people per year all over the United States. They are also one of the largest distributors of AEDs in the US.

Bill married his wife Kathy in 2002 and has 3 children. They enjoy golfing, fishing and traveling.
